Summer School

Thapar entrepreneurship course

Ever since I learnt about Entrepreneurship, I knew I wanted to be one in the future. I applied for this summer program and was selected making me learn things I could not have possibly imagined I could in only 1 week. We had daily contests, with prices such as shirts, caps and books. I was the winner of the second contest where we had to analyse the marketing strategy of a brand. Throughout the whole course we only had one goal which was to make our own product. My partner and I made the products through air dry clay, which is sustainable as it is biodegradable. We had a range of products from board games to home decor to also photo holders. On the last day we gave our pitch to 3 panelists one of them being Namita Thapar a renowned entrepreneur who is also a judge in Shark tank India. The audience consisted of more than 100 people where Namita Thapar ma’am invited previous shark tank winners as well.

My experience at Oxford for Business and Entrepreneurship was to say the least transformative. I was in a dynamic academic environment learning from an industry expert.

At Oxford I engaged with like-minded peers from around the world, participated in real life business simulations which involved implementing and pitching our own unique business idea.

Overall the program deepened my understanding of business as a whole going far beyond academics, the course further taught me the value innovation and strategic thinking. This 2 week course made me reliant on my skills and transformed me into a more independent and knowledgable individual.
